THE PERFECT CUP

Every day many people ask me what the perfect cup of coffee is like, trying to answer hundreds of moments pass through my head, because, although it sounds simple, it may be the most complex answer to give.

I find in my journey through this fascinating world of coffee, that according to the culture, each person has in their mind what they consider to be a perfect coffee, even if it is not to the taste of others. In this way I seek to teach that the perfect coffee regardless of the recipe is the coffee that you like the most, it can be hot, cold, with latte-type milk, cappuccino, espresso, American, Turkish, filtered, French press, aeropress, etc. end, a coffee for every taste. The above without mentioning the intensity of the drink, which in my opinion is the secret to begin our sensory adventure with coffee.
That is why today I want to share with you my recipe to prepare a good coffee at home. I use the V60 drip cone, which is my favorite coffee maker, because it achieves an excellent extraction.
I want an intense coffee to start my day, so I use 30 grams of coffee and 300 milliliters of water/10.14 oz at 92ºC/197.6ºF, medium grind (grain size similar to white sugar grains) and a total time of extraction of 4 minutes and 30 seconds, I use my favorite coffee, which is our Caturra variety, you can imagine an intense sweet aroma like panela or caramel with a delicious, quite juicy acidity that allows me to have a very soft, pleasant residual flavor and a medium body perfect for my personal taste.
