When we founded DV Café Especial in 2017 together with Sofia, my partner and wife, we did so with a clear dream: to share Colombia's best coffee with the world. We are both the third generation of coffee growers in our families, and we have grown up surrounded by the aroma of ripe cherries, the sound of water in the mountains, and a passion for good coffee. Today, I want to tell you why the coffee from Pitalito, Huila, is not only special to me but also to the entire world and the first coffee producer of Colombia:

Unique Cultivation Conditions
Pitalito is a region that seems to have been designed by nature for coffee. Its altitudes, ranging between 1,300 and 1,900 meters, its nutrient-rich volcanic soils, and a perfect climate allow the cherries to ripen at their own pace. This slow process, as I learned from my dad, is what concentrates the sugars and creates those sweet, fruity, and floral notes that we so enjoy.
The Dedication of Our Coffee Growers

One of my favorite memories is watching my family working with coffee-covered hands, carefully selecting each bean on rainy days. I see that same dedication now in the coffee growers of Pitalito with whom we collaborate. Every bean that arrives at DV Café Especial passes through expert hands that understand it's not just coffee, but history and legacy. Colombian Coffee
International Recognitions
I have seen firsthand the impact it has on tasters all over the world. Pitalito has shined in competitions such as the Taza de la Excelencia and the World Barista Championships, where experts from different countries recognize its complex and balanced profiles. Knowing that our coffee excites others as much as it does us is an indescribable feeling.
Commitment to Sustainability
I have always believed that to craft a good coffee, one must respect the land that produces it. That’s why, at DV Café Especial, we work with coffee growers who care for the environment, reuse resources, and understand the importance of preserving our coffee landscapes for future generations.
5. A Coffee That Tells Stories

For me, a cup of coffee from Pitalito, Huila is like opening a book full of stories. It’s like recalling my dad explaining how the rain affects the plants, my mom teaching me how to prepare a cup of coffee, and our team today who share those stories with you. Every sip connects the drinker with a process filled with effort and passion.
Perfect for All Preparations
One of the things I enjoy the most is experimenting with different brewing methods. Our coffee from Pitalito is so versatile that you can enjoy it as an intense Espresso, a smooth filter coffee, or even a refreshing Cold Brew. It’s a coffee that always surprises, no matter how you prepare it.
In conclusion

The coffee from origin Pitalito, Huila, is more than just a product for me; it is our history, our passion, and the commitment that Sofía and I share to quality. Every bean that reaches your cup carries with it all the love and dedication of both the coffee growers and our own. I invite you to try it, to be surprised, and to discover why this coffee is truly special.
