  • The story behind each cup of coffee: the coffee growers who make Divino Café Especial possible

When you enjoy a cup of specialty coffee, it's easy to focus on its flavor, aroma, and body. But behind every sip there is a story of effort, dedication and love for coffee. At DV Café Especial, every bean that reaches your cup has passed through the hands of passionate coffee growers who have dedicated their lives to cultivating exceptional coffee. Today we want to share some of those stories that make our coffee so special. Vereda Betania, Pitalito, Huila, Colombia Growing among the coffee plantations: the legacy of the producers. Our love for coffee didn't start at a fancy coffee shop or a professional tasting. It started in the mountains of Pitalito, Huila, where our families have grown coffee for generations. Since we were children we grew up surrounded by the sound of leaves swaying in the wind and the unmistakable smell of freshly picked coffee. We learned from our grandparents that quality is not a coincidence, but the result of a job well done. When we founded Divino Café Especial in 2017, we did so with the conviction that we wanted to share with the world that exceptional coffee that we had known since childhood. Today we are lucky to work with coffee growers who share that same philosophy. People who, despite the challenges of the climate, the economy and the hard work in the field, continue to commit to producing coffee of the highest quality. The faces behind specialty coffee Each farm we work with has a unique story, but they all have something in common: a passion for coffee. Nelson Cruz - La Planada Farm Nelson Cruz - La Planada Farm Don Nelson is from the second generation of coffee growers and has worked for more than 35 years in coffee, together with his wife Adela and their three children, they have a strong family union with solid human values, which on their farm is a reflection of the effort and love for the land. Their farm has state-of-the-art benefit and fermentation processes that improve quality and allow it to be maintained in the different varieties of coffee throughout the year, something that all our clients and friends from different cities around the world surely agree with us. Its specialty is the Caturra, Colombia variety and the Geisha variety, the latter famous for its floral and fruity notes. For Don Nelson, coffee is more than a product, it is a legacy that he wants to forge with his wife and children. Germán Ortiz - Mi Terruño Farm Germán Ortiz - Mi Terruño Farm Don Germán, along with his wife Teresa and their three daughters, on their farm is dedicated to the development of special coffee with traditional and exotic varieties. It manages high quality standards that allow it to obtain coffee of exceptional qualities, which is the result of years of dedication and arduous effort to standardize its harvesting, processing and drying processes of the grain and thus always guarantee quality. Its Bourbon Rosado coffee is characterized by its medium acidity, notes of red fruits and wine, in the same way the Bourbon Aji has been a great revelation in its notes which are unforgettable. We believe that every grain you grow carries your dedication and a piece of your history. Alejandro Rojas - La Esperanza Farm Alejandro Rojas - La Esperanza Farm Don Alejandro has a beautiful family with his wife Marisela and his daughter, a family that works as a team and united to delight us with their incredible coffee. With more than 20 years in coffee growing, he has dedicated himself to perfecting the artisanal anaerobic fermentation process. His microlots of Castillo Tambo coffee are harvested bean by bean by himself and he always takes care of every detail to highlight its sweetness, balanced and bright acidity. We believe that his and his family's commitment to offering the best quality possible is reflected in his coffee. More than coffee, a commitment to the community At DV Café Especial we believe that each coffee bean tells a story of effort and passion. Therefore, we work directly with coffee growers, guaranteeing fair prices and promoting sustainable practices. We not only want to offer exceptional coffee, but also contribute to the well-being of those who make it possible. Discover the soul of coffee in every sip The next time you drink a cup of DV Café Especial, we want you to think about everything behind it: the hands that harvested those beans, the mountains that watched them grow, the stories of passion and dedication that make this coffee unique. • Why is coffee from Pitalito, Huila the best in the world? Colombian coffee

When we founded DV Café Especial in 2017 together with Sofia, my partner and wife, we did so with a clear dream: to share Colombia's best coffee with the world. We are both the third generation of coffee growers in our families, and we have grown up surrounded by the aroma of ripe cherries, the sound of water in the mountains, and a passion for good coffee. Today, I want to tell you why the coffee from Pitalito, Huila, is not only special to me but also to the entire world and the first coffee producer of Colombia: La Planada farm. Unique Cultivation Conditions Pitalito is a region that seems to have been designed by nature for coffee. Its altitudes, ranging between 1,300 and 1,900 meters, its nutrient-rich volcanic soils, and a perfect climate allow the cherries to ripen at their own pace. This slow process, as I learned from my dad, is what concentrates the sugars and creates those sweet, fruity, and floral notes that we so enjoy. The Dedication of Our Coffee Growers Alejandro Rojas- Castillo Tambo / German Ortiz- Bourbon Rosado- Bourbon aji. One of my favorite memories is watching my family working with coffee-covered hands, carefully selecting each bean on rainy days. I see that same dedication now in the coffee growers of Pitalito with whom we collaborate. Every bean that arrives at DV Café Especial passes through expert hands that understand it's not just coffee, but history and legacy. Colombian Coffee International Recognitions I have seen firsthand the impact it has on tasters all over the world. Pitalito has shined in competitions such as the Taza de la Excelencia and the World Barista Championships, where experts from different countries recognize its complex and balanced profiles. Knowing that our coffee excites others as much as it does us is an indescribable feeling. Commitment to Sustainability I have always believed that to craft a good coffee, one must respect the land that produces it. That’s why, at DV Café Especial, we work with coffee growers who care for the environment, reuse resources, and understand the importance of preserving our coffee landscapes for future generations. 5. A Coffee That Tells Stories Nelson Cruz - Caturra Variety - Geisha - Colombia. For me, a cup of coffee from Pitalito, Huila is like opening a book full of stories. It’s like recalling my dad explaining how the rain affects the plants, my mom teaching me how to prepare a cup of coffee, and our team today who share those stories with you. Every sip connects the drinker with a process filled with effort and passion. Perfect for All Preparations One of the things I enjoy the most is experimenting with different brewing methods. Our coffee from Pitalito is so versatile that you can enjoy it as an intense Espresso, a smooth filter coffee, or even a refreshing Cold Brew. It’s a coffee that always surprises, no matter how you prepare it. In conclusion Panoramic View from Vereda Betania, Pitalito - Huila The coffee from origin Pitalito, Huila, is more than just a product for me; it is our history, our passion, and the commitment that Sofía and I share to quality. Every bean that reaches your cup carries with it all the love and dedication of both the coffee growers and our own. I invite you to try it, to be surprised, and to discover why this coffee is truly special. Visit us in the historic center of Bogotá or purchase our coffee at www.divinocafeespecial.com . I am sure that it will be an experience you enjoy with every sip.
